Italian Hillside Village Tile Pictures
When people ask me which hillside village I’ve used in a particular work, I explain that it’s never a particular village, it’s much more than that. I’ve taken elements from so many and combined them in different ways to create the artwork. They are images I've drawn on site and images that I conjure up from memories of my visit.
It could be about the mood, the shapes of the houses fitting together or, the colours and the heat. The experience of walking upwards to the church at the top of the village, taking in the views, stopping for a coffee and just relaxing into the stay.
